Saving Money at Starbucks

This is a guest post.

Daily purchases add up, no matter how cheap they may seem or how desperate you are to consume them. These everyday necessities cost a pretty penny when you add it all up. What seems like pocket change on a day-to-day basis is actually a significant amount of money at the year’s end. You’ll feel this at the end of the year when you go holiday shopping and realize you can’t even afford the best Black Friday deals. Does that mean you shouldn’t buy a delicious cup of joe each morning to start your day? Not in my book. I see this as a way to explore the various promotions Starbucks has to offer.

A brief example – if you drink one coffee a day, which I modestly priced at $3, you are spending over one thousand dollars a year! So for all the coffee addicts out there – I have highlighted some unique ways to save on your daily Starbucks fix, and not feel so guilty about it.

The Starbucks Card is essential for any coffee lover. Each time you make a purchase with your Starbucks Card in-store or online, you earn stars. Accumulating stars earns you rewards, and good ones at that. A few benefits include: a free drink on your birthday, syrup or milk on the house, free refills and more. If you are a Starbucks regular, this card is a must.

For your convenience, download the mobile app. You can pay, track your stars and reload your card all on your smartphone. This makes for a quick, hassle-free trip to Starbucks. All you have to do is download the app and enter your registered Starbucks Card number, and then your card magically converts to your phone. You will also receive Starbucks coupons and new promotions via the app as well.

To support those compassionate folks who make frequent coffee runs for the office, Starbucks has you covered. From now until the end of September, Starbucks is offering the Runner Reward. Just print out the card and fill it out to get your free cup of coffee. Starbucks rewards coffee runners, so you don’t feel guilty about buying a round for your officemates.

Starbucks has on-going promotions throughout the year, so be sure to stay up to date with their latest discounts. For coffee lovers everywhere, I hope this informs you on how to save at Starbucks, making that cup of coffee just that much more delicious.

  1. Great post for people who love to drink coffee, like me. I did a post earlier this year which was a coffee/lunch comparison of a mate at work who bought lunch and coffees everyday. I compared him to me bringing a lunch and my coffee brewed at home and the numbers were astronomical. I am happy to say that it doesn’t bother me one bit to take time to brew a cuppa and make me a lunch for work. I’ll keep that money in the bank, thanks. Cheers and great post. Mr.CBB
