Folks, this post is going to be short.
I am back from vacation. The vacation was good and … eh … not so good. We went on a cruise to Alaska, and came back loving Alaska’s nature and absolutely not liking people. In fact, when we landed in Salt Lake, I was thinking to write a post named “Fuck You, Fellow Cruisers.” Since landing, however, I moved on to a gentler title such as “People I Want to Smother.”
Let’s hope that by the time I write a recap of our vacation, the title of the post will be something like “Vacation in Alaska: Emotional Recap.” It is coming shortly, I promise.
In the meantime, I need to sort out some stuff at work. Who would think that being away for a little more than a week would be so overwhelming for some of us?
Also, in the past two days I’ve been walking around like a zombie. My mind is cloudy, my focus is almost non existent, and all I can think about is my bed. I need some serious rest. Apparently when you go on a cruise, you don’t really get to rest and relax. You get up at five or six o’clock in the morning, run around trying to fit the world into six-seven hours, and you get back to the ship dead-tired just to deal with your nasty fellow cruisers.
In other words, I feel spent, worked up and somewhat disappointed. But it was not all that bad. Really.
I will be back in a few days! Going to take a nap now.

Sorry your vacation was not-so-great, but I feel most people end up coming back from vacation exhausted. Looking forward to the post!

That sucks that other people put such a damper on the vacation. Hopefully the memory of those people fades but the positive things and experiences that you had will be more long lasting.

Sorry to hear that. We don’t like cruises and I’m looking forward to your post later. Alaska is pretty nice though, right?

I’ve heard Alaska is beautiful. Can’t wait to read your upcoming post, but I’m sorry the cruise wasn’t what you expected.

Awww, sorry — but you probably realized that you’re just not a “cruise person” — there are people who love them, and they are likely the ones who irritated you.

I am very sorry to hear this! Judging by the titles and the sequence I am not sure you are really mellowing. Exhale!

Hmm not quite sure I want to take a cruise anymore lol. Sorry about the yucky cruise people. I had a friend who worked on a cruise for over 6 months and she can probably relate to your experience.

Oh no, Aloysa! Honestly, I’ve never wanted to take a cruise. It just makes me feel stuck and claustrophobic even thinking about being canned like sardines with a bunch of people I don’t know…and might not like. Yuck! Anyway, Denver will just be your vacation this year…and it’s going to be so much fun! I promise

I am really looking forward to Denver. It will be fun.
As fas as cruising goes, it is not for everyone.
I know Alaska is a good choice for vacation, but I didn’t expect this.Sorry to know that your vacation was not that great !!
Oh no! Sorry to hear that! I’m excited to hear about Alaska, though. I’ll be there in October.

I have to admit I loved Alaska. I just would never go on a cruise there again.
Haha, oh my, yes, take that nap. When did vacations become unrestful? I’m looking forward to hearing about what those fellow cruisers did to you guys!

LMAO at this! You might be quite right, my friend!
Sorry to hear the cruise wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. I know that when I get back from vacations, I usually need a couple of days to rest and play catch-up. Get some sleep and relax at home!

Tell us how you really feel! Wow, remind me not to get on your bad side, haha. Hope you are feeling better now. My old boss loves cruises because everything is so convenient and reasonably priced. He didn’t factor in a-holes though.
